Episode 16: Spoonbandits
‘Furber is a Tree Listener and one of seven nature spirits that live inside the Mystic Woods. The following stories are excerpts from his journal.’

Hello! This is just a quick update to say, there’s more “Furber and the Mystic Woods” coming soon.
I’ve just been catching up with deadlines for some other illustration projects, which I’ll talk about in another post. (It’s pretty exciting though!) In the meantime, I’m getting back to work on Episode 15. There’s still a lot of drawing to do…

Energetic, spontaneous, and playful, Frizzle the Mosspainter loves going on adventures with Furber. She’s incredibly creative and imaginative, but she can easily lose her focus. She is quick to take charge and feels emotions very deeply. When she feels sad, she turns into “Drizzle” and her dress turns blue.
Frizzle first appears in episode two of “Furber and the Mystic Woods”

Frizzle is based on my partner, Liz Lowson. Liz is just as imaginative, creative, and bouncy as Frizzle! Liz writes books about bears (which I illustrate). I highly recommend reading her stories. They are amazing!

In the Mystic Woods calendar, it is Slug Appreciation Day! When did you last appreciate a slug? Let me know in the comments

Hi, I’m Daniel, and I have spent the past year crafting ‘Furber and the Mystic Woods’ with the intention of creating a peaceful online sanctuary. This world will always be open for everyone to explore, and my hope is that people may find something healing within these gentle stories.
Currently, there are 12 episodes (with plenty more on the way!), so pour yourself a cup of tea, relax, and let Furber and his friends guide you into the forest.
Catch up on all episodes so far
On a final note, I want to make these episodes as accessible as possible. They will always remain free, but if you like what I’m doing, there are many ways you can support me and my art. Please consider sharing this message or making a donation.
Thank you,
Daniel
