  • The Singing Hill

Welcome to the world of “Furber and the Mystic Woods”. A place of magic, humour, and gentle storytelling. Written and illustrated by Daniel Saunders.

Hi, I’m Daniel, and I have spent the past year crafting ‘Furber and the Mystic Woods’ with the intention of creating a peaceful online sanctuary. This world will always be open for everyone to explore, and my hope is that people may find something healing within these gentle stories.

Currently, there are 12 episodes (with plenty more on the way!), so pour yourself a cup of tea, relax, and let Furber and his friends guide you into the forest.

On a final note, I want to make these episodes as accessible as possible. They will always remain free, but if you like what I’m doing, there are many ways you can support me and my art. Please consider sharing this message or making a donation.

    Thank you,

    Daniel

  • Update: Graphic novel news

    Hello friends,

Episode 12 is now in its final polishing stage, and if all goes smoothly, you’ll be reading it next week. It’s taken me slightly longer than planned… but for a very exciting reason.

I’ve been quietly (and joyfully) working on the first-ever ‘Furber and the Mystic Woods’ graphic novel! This book will be the beginning of a whole series of expanded adventures exploring new corners, characters, and mysteries of the world…

I can’t wait to share more as it unfolds. Thank you, as always, for reading ‘Furber and the Mystic Woods’.

    -Daniel

  • Happy Awakening Day!

In the Mystic Woods calendar, Awakening Day marks the beginning of a brand‑new year, and the end of Dreamtime.

As the woodland stirs, Furber and his friends take this moment to think about the dreams they’re carrying into the year ahead… and the actions that might help those dreams come true.

As we step into the Year of the Fox, Furber’s dream is to spend less time alone and to deepen his connections with his friends and the forest around him.

    What about you?

    • What is your dream?
    • And what steps could you take to help it grow?

Stay tuned for brand‑new episodes of Mystic Woods, plus some very exciting news coming soon…

  • Happy New Year!

I’d like to take a moment to share my appreciation to everyone who has been following the adventures of “Furber and the Mystic Woods”. Thank you for all your support.

There are plenty of new episodes coming soon (including Furber’s origin story.) Meanwhile, I’ve been working on a longer form graphic novel, which I hope to release later this year, and behind the scenes, I’ve been experimenting with new brush tools and drawing techniques.

I’m very grateful to everyone who has taken time to read these stories. I love creating and sharing them.

Wishing everyone a very joyful 2026!

    -Daniel
